Walmart is preparing to add drone “nest pads” at two of their store locations in Northeast Memphis and Cordova.
Included along with these “nest pads” would be a battery generator and storage kiosk with a carrying capacity for up to 18 drones, which will allow local customers within the service area to have everything from medications to groceries delivered to their homes in as little as 30 minutes.
Once online, Memphis will be just one of 20 U.S. markets with Walmart’s drone delivery, a service the company is hoping to serve 40 million customers with by 2027.
