On Monday morning, thousands of students from all throughout the Mid-South will return to class.
Memphis-Shelby County Schools, DeSoto County, Senatobia, Marshall, and Quitman County are among the districts that have begun the new school year.
In order to welcome students, families, and staff, Superintendent Dr. Roderick Richmond and members of the school board began the day with a bus tour that stops at schools around the district.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, remain vigilant, and stop for school buses when the stop arm is out and the lights are flashing because buses and school zones are once again active.
