The newly covered practice football field for Bartlett City Schools is the result of an approximately $5 million investment.
The football team used the field for the first time on Wednesday.
Temperatures beneath the shade structure are roughly 15 degrees lower compared to the temperatures outside, according to the school’s athletic director.
The field has an ice bath, water fountains, and extra fans for ventilation if necessary.
Bartlett High School Athletic Director Tim Jones said, “It’s an advantage you can practice longer practice when some of the other schools — some of the other schools can’t get on the field right now because it’s 100-plus index.”
