This week, a wheelchair-bound man attempting to cross a busy intersection in Jonesboro, Arkansas received help from an unlikely hero who guided him to the other side of the road in record time.
Christopher Hellenthal (pictured below), an employee at Ultimate Air Trampoline Park, was on his way home from work in his red Jeep (coincidentally dressed as Spider-Man for his company’s superhero day) when he spotted the handicapped citizen in need and swooped in with Spidey-like reflexes to save the day, an act of kindness which has since gained social media attention after being caught on camera by the Jonesboro Police Department.
While some critics thought the whole event was staged, Hellenthal responded to such villains by stating he wasn’t taking part in any kind of promotional stunt for the upcoming Spider-Man film, he was just helping someone in need.
“I go into local stores too, and people like to take pictures, and I’ll just go around and act like, act like nothing, nothing funny is happening,” Hellenthal jokingly remarked.
Jonesboro’s Friendly Neighborhood Hellenthal is hoping his five minutes of fame will inspire other Spider-Men (and Women) to appear in more places around the country, to bring joy and hope where it’s needed most.
