Millington Police Chief Chris Stokes will be retiring after 30 years with the department and serving in the role of Chief since July 2022.
“Chief Stokes has dedicated three decades of his life to protecting and serving our community,” Millington Mayor Larry Dagen said. “On behalf of the City of Millington, I want to sincerely thank him for his years of dedicated service, steadfast leadership, and commitment to keeping our community safe. We wish him nothing but the best in this well-deserved retirement.”
Commenting on his retirement, Stokes stated:
“It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside such a dedicated team, committed to the citizens of this community. I will always be grateful for the experiences, challenges, and memories we have shared. While I am excited to embark on this next chapter, spending more time with my family, traveling, and fishing. I will truly miss working with all of you. The friendships I have gained over the last thirty years have made a lasting impact on me. As I move on from law enforcement, I take those experiences with me.”
The city of Millington said they would begin their search for a new police chief in August, with Stokes remaining in his position until November “to ensure a smooth and successful transition.”
