The Memphis Police Department posted the body camera footage of the rescue of a man caught in “fast-moving floodwaters” that lasted three hours.
Officers at Crump Station responded to a report on July 25, regarding a male who was spotted drifting in Cypress Creek and yelling for help.
The man was clinging to a tree branch when an officer rushed to the creek embankment. He was then securely pulled to shore by the officers.
“Outstanding work by the Crump Station officers and Emergency Communications personnel whose teamwork, determination, and quick thinking made this life-saving rescue possible,” MPD said.
