Jonesboro, Arkansas’ Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man who made headlines last week for his act of heroism has been invited by Sony Pictures to fly out to Los Angeles for the world premiere of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
Christopher Hellenthal, a.k.a. “Northeast Arkansas Spidey,” was caught on camera by the Jonesboro Police Department hopping out of his red Jeep in full superhero regalia to assist a man in a wheelchair who was struggling to cross a busy intersection, an act of kindness that has since become a social media sensation.
“I didn’t expect it to blow up like this either,” Hellenthal said. “I just thought it would be like a really fun thing to do, but I’m glad that people are seeing it, and I hope that people, whether they’re being watched or not, will step up and do the right thing whenever the time calls for it.”
