The Southern College of Optometry and Catholic Charities of West Tennessee are teaming up to provide free eye exams and prescription glasses to homeless residents in the Bluff City.
The clinic will be opening at the Catholic Charities campus at 1325 Jefferson Ave. and was created after surveys proved that vision care was one of the most requested services among the people they serve.
“Southern College of Optometry is helping us remove another significant barrier to stability and independence,” said Catholic Charities Executive Director George Nixon. “Better vision impacts employment, education, healthcare, safety and overall quality of life.”
