One individual was taken into custody at a Parkway Village home on Monday, after a missing three-year-old was discovered dead close to the Wolf River harbor.
Officers responded to a custodial interference complaint involving a father taking three-year-old Joseph Martinez out of the house without permission on Sunday.
Officers went to a follow-up report at the Parkway Village residence on Monday at around 8 a.m., following the father’s return home without Martinez.
Officers responded to another call and found the boy dead.
A male was detained while officers were conducting an investigation.
According to police, the death investigation is still under progress. As further details become available, they will be made public.
Police were spotted on Mud Island close to the harbor, and crime scene tape was erected around the Parkway Village residence where the youngster was purportedly abducted.
