Carl Davis of Memphis Allies says that [gun violence] it’s starting to be normalized. The outreach team is usually members of the community, former gang affiliated and are now trying to show guys that this is not normal and they don’t want people to becoome numb to the gun violence. The research shows that typically, 1 shooting results in 4 additional shootings. Memphis Allies works to be the stop gap. Accountability is key, says Carl. Accountability with opportunity.
