The majority of Memphis-Shelby County Schools’ offices and schools reopened on Tuesday; however, some will still remain closed due to ongoing efforts to restore electricity.
This comes after significant power failures forced the closure of all MSCS schools on Monday.
140,000 consumers were without power on Saturday night during the storm’s peak. That figure had dropped to around 35,000 by Monday afternoon.
