The Protect College Sports Act, a U.S. Senate bill pertaining to college sports, was written by Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, and Maria Cantwell, a Democrat from Washington.
The bill was submitted in the US Congress with the goal of sustaining collegiate athletics. It gives the NCAA a limited antitrust exemption to enforce Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) payment, athlete protections, transfer rules, and media rights under a unified national framework.
