According to the head of the Greater Memphis Chamber, a plan is being developed to keep the Grizzlies in downtown Memphis for “multiple decades.”
The Chamber’s interim president, Duncan Williams, said on Tuesday that he met with Grizzlies President Jason Wexler and had the chance to hear about their plans for the FedExForum.
After the 2029 season, the Grizzlies’ lease at FedExForum expires.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has stated unequivocally that the league does not intend to relocate the team from Memphis.
Williams said, “The bottom line is, it is happening, and it is happening soon, that they will be here for multiple decades.”
