At an event on Wednesday afternoon, Regional One Health and county officials presented plans for the county’s new public hospital.
The Commercial Appeal’s previous location on Union Ave. will serve as the new location for Regional One. The structure is being demolished.
The address of the present Regional One hospital facility is 877 Jefferson Avenue.
Lee Harris, the mayor of Shelby County, stated that the new hospital, which would combine seven buildings into one, was due to the state of the aging present Regional One site.
The team intends to complete hospital designs over the next year, even though an official opening date for the new Regional One has not yet been announced.
