One photo taken during the Artemis II mission has gained worldwide attention, and actually has a connection to the MidSouth.
On day six of the Artemis II mission, astronauts could be seen donning eclipse glasses in order to view a rare total solar eclipse while positioned 4,000 miles away, with said glasses being provided by a local company called American Paper Optics in Bartlett, TN.
“What I love knowing is that I would venture to say we have manufactured a product that has gone further than anything in Memphis has,” said Chief Marketing Officer Jason Lewin.
Since the photo has been shared on social media, Lewin says his company has received an outpouring of support and new business.
