Memphis head coach Charles Huff is radiating energy as his Tigers prepare to transition from a summer of anticipation to the grueling realities of fall camp.
Standing before reporters on Tuesday for media day, Huff’s excitement for the upcoming 2026 season was palpable, but his immediate focus was anchored on building foundational chemistry.
Before the team takes its first official practice snaps on Thursday morning, the Tigers are trading their helmets for a day of pure disconnection, heading up to Victory Ranch for an unplugged team-bonding retreat.
The Tigers are set to kick off the season in one month when they travel on August 29 to play UNLV in Las Vegas. This will be the debut for Coach Huff, who was hired back in December 2025 after the departure of former HC Ryan Silverfield.
“We’ve got play our tails off and execute,” Coach Huff said during media day interviews. “If we were playing Whitehaven High School, that would be the same.”
All games will be broadcast exclusively on the radio on Newstalk 98.9 FM, the “Home of the Tigers”.
