The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office reports that several fights broke out at Ripley High School’s graduation on Thursday night.
“Our graduates have worked for years to reach this milestone. Their families came to celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime accomplishment. It is a shame that a handful of cowardly individuals chose to rob them of a moment they had earned through years of effort and perseverance,” said Sheriff Brian Kelley.
The reason for the altercations has not been disclosed by the authorities.
LSCO has confirmed they are currently examining the video footage and attempting to identify all those engaged in the fights.
As a result, a 10 p.m. curfew has been enforced for Lauderdale County.
