The man who was shot on Wednesday morning at Burger King in Frayser by a Drug Enforcement Administration agent has died.
41-year-old Darrin Pigram was shot as he was working as law enforcement was trying to execute an arrest warrant.
Pigram was transported to the hospital, according to the TBI, where he died from his wounds.
According to a DEA representative, their agents were collaborating with the Memphis Safe Task Force to execute a state arrest warrant on an individual with a criminal history who was known to be armed and dangerous.
The DEA maintains that when the suspect was confronted, he reached into his waistband for a weapon, which caused one of the officers to fire at Pigram. One bystander, however, claimed he was not armed.
