Five individuals have been charged by Panola County, Mississippi authorities in relation to an alleged dog-fighting ring.
When Panola County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at an address on Rock Hill Road on Sunday, they claim to have discovered a dogfighting event that was in the planning stages.
After being saved, twenty-three dogs are receiving treatment at different locations throughout the county. According to the sheriff’s office, a number of cars were also towed and seized on Tuesday.
The following people were arrested:
- Portia Henderson, 35, of Batesville, charged with Dog Fighting, Conspiracy, and Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to distribute
- Derrick Fondren, 32, of Sardis, charged with Dog Fighting, Conspiracy, and Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to distribute
- Marlo Cox, 30, of Batesville, charged with Conspiracy
- Andrew Franklin, 31, of Horn Lake, charged with Conspiracy
- Ivan Sandridge, 37, of Senatobia, charged with Conspiracy
