Two women were arrested after allegedly stealing cash payments from patients and then attempting to conceal it by falsifying documentation.
Months after allegedly committing the crimes, Lakenya Smith and Monique Neeley have been charged with fabricating false financial statements and theft of property worth between $2,500 and $10,000.
In February of 2025, Honeycomb Management’s owner contacted authorities following complaints from patients that paid their bills in cash, but were still receiving bills in the mail.
Employees Monique Neeley and Lakenya Smith conspired to embezzle almost $9,000 from the company by accepting cash payments from patients between September 2024, and February 2025, according to an internal investigation by the company.
