Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Ja Morant was dealt by the Memphis Grizzlies to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Prior to the trade, Morant had played his whole career for the Grizzlies, who had chosen him with the second overall choice in the 2019 NBA Draft.
He made the NBA All-Star team twice in 2022 and 2023.
Morant is presently in the fourth year of a five-year, $197 million designated rookie agreement that will keep him with the Trail Blazers until the 2027–2028 season.
This summer, the 26-year-old point guard could sign a $178 million, three-year contract deal.
