Lt. Gov. Randy McNally appointed Billy Orgel and Dedrick Brittenum Jr. to the state’s new Memphis Shelby County Schools oversight board on Tuesday.
Furthermore, David Mansouri, president and CEO of Tennessee SCORE, has been selected as one of two appointees by House Speaker Cameron Sexton.
On Friday, Governor Bill Lee unveiled his selections for the oversight board. They are:
Beverly Robertson, Dorsey Hopson, Shanea McKinney, Nisha Powers, and Tyrone Burroughs.
The oversight board will have total control over contracts and budgeting, and will assume power on July 1. Their terms expire in 2030.
