North Memphis-based PMC Biogenix Inc. submitted a WARN Notice to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development on Tuesday, stating that it will be closing permanently this spring.
According to the notice, 172 employees would be impacted by the shutdown, which is scheduled for April 26.
PMC Biogenix’s website describes itself as a worldwide, innovative company that develops, produces, and markets specialty chemicals made from renewable resources.
This comes after a 2022 explosion and fire at the chemical plant that resulted in one person taken to a hospital in critical condition after suffering from hand and face burns.
