One teenage Chick-Fil-A employee in Jonesboro, Arkansas was in the right place at the right time when she helped save the life of a choking toddler.
Danielle Sturgeon, who had only been on the job for two months, noticed a man trying to help his one year-old daughter after she swallowed her chicken nugget the wrong way while she was laughing at her older brother.
Sturgeon had remembered watching a video about the Heimlich Maneuver a few years back and began performing it on the child, ultimately saving her life.
The toddler was taken to the hospital and released on the same day, returning a few days later to the Jonesboro Chick-Fil-A to thank her “superhero.”
Sturgeon was later honored by her store’s owner with flowers and a certificate, but the teenager humbly replied to such praise by saying, “If it wasn’t for Jesus, you know, I would not have even been in this place to do something like that because it’s actually the first place to call me back for a job.”
