An employment discrimination lawsuit has been filed against Memphis-Shelby County Schools by a former special assistant to Dr. Marie Feagins, claiming that the former superintendent forced her to resign after exposing herself twice to the employee.
Camalyn Turner is the employee who experienced the alleged exposure while temporarily living in Feagins’ home back in August 2024.
The lawsuit stated, ““Dr. Feagins called upstairs for Plaintiff to come down and listen to a conversation Dr. Feagins was having with an MSCS Board member. Plaintiff walked down the stairs. When she looked up near the bottom of the staircase, Dr. Feagins was standing at the foot of the stairs completely naked, staring at Plaintiff and waiting for her.”
According to Turner, she was replaced the next day.
In another incident noted for October 4, 2024, Feagins allegedly exposed herself again to Turner after she “demanded that Plaintiff come to her house and dress her,” according to the lawsuit.
Turner was then forced to resign shortly after that incident, on October 15.
She is seeking $1.5M in damages from her lost salary, benefits, and career trajectory. This story will be updated once Feagins releases her own statement.
