Attorney Ben Crump stated at a news conference on Wednesday afternoon that an independent forensic analysis determined that the death of one-year-old Kohen Wiley was a homicide and that the bullet exited his body through his left side after entering his chest from the right.
“We’re going to fight for baby Kohen to get justice,” said Crump.
Wiley’s family joined Crump as he disclosed the results of an independent forensic analysis conducted by pathologist Dr. Roger Mitchell.
Dr. Mitchell concluded from the forensic examination that a shotgun shot to the torso was the cause of death.
Due to the position of the entrance and exit wounds, according to the forensic review. One or more of the thoracic organs, the heart, lungs, and esophagus, were severely injured, killing Wiley.
Crump continues to demand that Walmart’s security footage and the body-cam footage of the incident be made public by law authorities.
Kohen Wiley was shot and killed on June 14 when law enforcement officers responded to a shoplifting call.
