Attorneys Ben Crump and Van Turner announced on Monday that they are calling for an independent autopsy into the death of one-year-old Kohen Wiley, who was shot and killed by an officer outside a Walmart in Senatobia, Mississippi.
At a press conference, Crump stated that Kohen’s family wants an independent autopsy because they don’t want to rely on the findings of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation’s autopsy.
“They will not have to take anyone’s word for how baby Kohen died. They will have the truth examined by someone who answers to no one but the facts,” Crump mentioned. “Not the state of Mississippi, not the police department, and not Tate County. We want the truth.”
Additionally, Crump and Turner are urging the police department to make available the security footage of the incident from Walmart’s parking lot cameras as well as body camera footage from police.
