A “record-setting” sentence has been given to a former DeSoto County teacher on a voyeurism conviction.
13 years in prison, followed by seven years of supervision post-release, is the sentence for Benjamin Kegerise. According to DeSoto Co. DA Matthew Barton, it’s the longest prison sentence ever for a voyeurism conviction in the county.
A former teacher at Center Hill High School, officials say Kegerise did not record any illegal content of students or at the school.
His arrest was in October 2025 for recording people secretly in his Olive Branch residence bathroom trashcan.
