The Tennessee Department of Human Services has announced that the Kid University daycare in Cordova has closed its doors permanently, following the death of 6 year-old Winter Jones after being left alone in a hot bus last week.
The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office has said, “As of now, no charges have been filed in this matter, but that does not mean we will or will not pursue charges as the investigation progresses.”
An inspector in the case reported, “The driver and the reviewers admitted [they] did not conduct a walk-through to confirm all children were off the bus.”
In total, the Tennessee Department of Human Services’ investigation has found five areas of non-compliance with state transportation regulations.
