Following a three-car collision in East Memphis this weekend that resulted in injuries, a Memphis Police officer received a citation.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Poplar Avenue and South Prescott Street about 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The officer ignored a red light and hit a driver turning into Poplar while responding to a call with lights on but no siren engaged. That vehicle struck another vehicle.
With non-critical injuries, the cop was transported to Regional One. While a passenger in the third vehicle may have been hurt, the driver and passenger in the second car were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
For ignoring a red light, the officer received a ticket.
