There is a desperate need for both quantity and quality physicians in rural areas near Blytheville, Arkansas, a need which one native resident is striving to solve with a generous donation.
Ted Huffman and his wife Cheryl gifted $1.25 million yesterday to the medical program at Arkansas State University to promote more residencies in the region for aspiring physicians and remodel the campus’ facilities.
Ted Huffman originally grew up in Blytheville before going on to serve in the U.S. Navy and open up an investment management company in New York, while his wife Cheryl works as an attorney.
“What drew us to this effort is the opportunity to meet an immediate need while building something lasting,” Cheryl said regarding their donation. “We hope our support encourages others to help advance the program’s initiatives.”
