A brown monkey was spotted in Crockett County by a resident who reported to deputies that her dog refused to come inside because they could see the primate prancing across a field in the Brim’s Corner area near Highways 188, 88, and 54 South.
This is the second reported instance of “monkey business” in Tennessee recently, as a marmoset went missing in August and was reunited with their owner after being found on a porch in Shelby County.
Deputies contacted the Tennessee Safari Park on Conley Rd in Alamo, TN, who told them that none of their animals are missing.
If you or anyone you know spots this monkey, deputies have asked that you not capture it, feed it, or bring it to your house unless it belongs to you.
Instead, call the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office at 731-696-2104 and give the location of the monkey when you find them.
