Elon Musk announced on Halloween that two more data centers will be up and running in Southaven by the end of the year, and each was given unique yet meaningful names:
- “Gun Range,” named after a former local police department gun range that Musk claims his company purchased.
- “Spam,” named after a building on the property that used to store Hormel products inside of it.
Whether this announcement is a trick or treat for some is a topic of hot debate amongst locals, as data centers continue to receive regulations and pushbacks throughout the Mid-South and beyond.
