A dispute broke out over long lines at a Memphis voting site, which resulted in a poll watcher accused of slapping an election worker, according to a police report obtained by Newstalk 98.9.
Police say the incident happened on Wednesday at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church where the alleged assaulter, Kimberly Pearson, the mother of Justin J. Pearson, refused multiple attempts by a worker to leave after she kept arguing with him about how the lines were being managed.
The victim, election worker Willie Hopper, told police Pearson slapped his hand as she left, which was also witnesses by others at the church. This all happened because Pearson did not approve of how Hopper was managing the lines.
Pearson allegedly tried re-entering the church after Hopper locked the doors behind her, and she was put on a ban-list for the rest of the voting period.
