Munford, TN was awarded the largest of fourteen grants as part of a statewide renovation project, according to a release yesterday from TN Governor Bill Lee and Deputy Governor Stuart C. McWhorter.
Said grant for Munford totals $350,000 and will be used to improve both its downtown facades and streetscapes, injecting new life into the humble Tipton County town.
Governor Bill Lee said in Wednesday’s release: “Our rural communities are the backbone of our economy, and I’m proud to take part in announcing these grants. I’m grateful for local leaders who care deeply about their communities and look forward to seeing the investments they make to ensure all of Tennessee can flourish.”
