Desoto County Superintendent Cory Uselton has received a high honor from the state, as he was named Mississippi’s 2026-2027 Superintendent of the Year, according to an announcement made by the district this week.
Before assuming his role as Superintendent in 2016, Uselton has risen through the educational ranks in his region and was also recognized as Desoto County Schools’ Principal of the Year from 2012 to 2013.
This recognition comes after Desoto County Schools earned an “A” rating in Mississippi’s 2025-2026 state accountability results just a few weeks ago, further proving that the region itself is rising through the ranks as well.
