Several weeks after the closure of Legends Lounge in Hickory Hill, representatives for the nightclub will appear in court to appeal the decision.
It was shut down by the Memphis Safe Task Force after the club was deemed a public nuisance after multiple police raids following multiple reports of violence and criminal activity.
Since 2023, MPD reported 60 documented incidents.
In those raids, specifically the last one before the closure, police found illegal drugs and weapons inside which led to charges filed against the club’s co-owner.
Arthur Earl Horne III, the nightclub’s attorney, is saying all of the reports are accusations and that the owners are not responsible for the crimes.
