It’s the end of the road for Darryl Cuttell in the racing business which means multiple racetracks will up for auction.
On Tuesday, Tranzon Atlas LLC announced that selling 12 racetracks and motorsports properties through a hybrid sealed-bid auction will be their new responsibility after being hired by Darana Motorsports Holdings LLC.
Those bids are due by November 17.
The list of racetracks in the auction include:
- Atlanta Dragway in Atlanta, GA
- Dragway 42 in West Salem, OH
- Darana Motorsports Park in Benson, NC
- Piedmont Dragway in Julian, NC
- Empire Dragway in Leicester, NY
- Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, KS
- Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, OH
- Memphis International Raceway in Millington, TN
- Milan Dragway in Milan, MI
- National Trail Raceway in Hebron, OH
- Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, NC
- Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie, VA
The Memphis International Speedway is a 342-acre property, which used to be known as the Darana-Memphis Motorsports Park.
This auction sale comes less than a year after the announcement that Darana purchased the property.
Several events were scheduled for Cuttell’s new racetrack, including the 2026 IHRA World Finals, but renovations were never completed and very little events were ever held.
“Our business has taken a different direction from what we originally anticipated, and I have made the decision to exit the racing business through the sale of these properties,” Cuttell, CEO of Darana Motorsports Holdings, said in the release.
