The Chinese based electric infrastructure parts manufacturer, Shemar has announced that they are moving their USA headquarters to Charlotte, NC. Proximity to Charlotte Douglas International Airport was cited as one of the deciding factors in the move from Memphis. The company opened their USA operations in 2023 in Memphis and has chosen to invest $15 million in a new, 94,640 square foot facility and headquarters in North Charlotte. After announcing the closing of the Memphis location earlier this year, the search began for a new site. A company spokesperson says they expect to fill 80 job openings to include engineering, maintenance, supply chain, warehousing and technical support. Shemar is touting “tariff-free” composite insulation and for high voltage grid transmission lines in America.
