Another rough list for Memphis, as they have been listed among the cities with the worst US transit systems.
The study, by Consumer Affairs, ranked Memphis, Tennessee’s public transit system near the bottom of 50 U.S. cities.
According to the study:
- Second-least useful transit system
- Third-worst for operational safety
- Lowest ridership rate
The reports did not take into account the millions of dollars of waste, fraud, and abuse by MATA that was unveiled over the summer.
An audit exposed more than $2 million in unaccounted credit card charges, alongside a massive $60 million financial shortfall.
