In response to an early-morning ICE raid at a bar in the Berclair area, protesters gathered along Summer Avenue on Sunday.
Over 100 people were detained at El Corralón, according to Vecindarios 901.
That immigrant advocacy group stated that federal law enforcement, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, participated in the operation.
Memphis Mayor Paul Young said in a statement on Sunday afternoon that the MPD had no role in organizing or executing the federal operation.
MPD added that no arrests or detentions were made by its officers at the scene. Police reported no property damage or injuries.
