Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris informed WREG on Friday that the Tennessee National Guard is no longer involved with the Memphis Safe Task Force.
In order to combat crime in the city, President Trump established the Memphis Safe Task Force, which officially started operations and arrived in Memphis at the end of September 2025.
The task force consisted of 13 agencies, including the National Guard and 300 more troopers, according to Governor Bill Lee, who said it would be a long-term strategy.
The task force’s activities included finding missing children, issuing homicide warrants, and confiscating hundreds of firearms.
