After driving his truck into a creek on Wednesday and getting stuck inside, a male driver is recovering in the hospital.
The truck was on its side with the driver still inside when Shelby County firemen arrived at the scene at Walnut Grove and Bazeberry Roads.
He was set free by firefighters using spreaders and cutters. He was airlifted to the Hospital Wing of the Regional One Trauma Center. It is anticipated that he will recover from his wounds.
The driver’s reason for leaving the road has not been disclosed by the fire department, but they say that everyone worked together to successfully save him.
