One Collierville woman is fighting to ensure her ex-husband remains behind bars after surviving his multiple attempts to hire people to kill her.
Staci Jones said that over a decade ago her ex-husband, Collierville attorney Fred Wortman, hired hitmen to take her life, using such barbaric methods as poisoning her toothpaste (which Staci miraculously survived as the dose she ingested was non-lethal).
Additionally, even after he was behind bars, Wortman inadvertently hired a cellmate that turned out to be an undercover TBI agent to kill his estranged wife, making this the third attempt on Staci’s life.
Despite his parole hearing being scheduled for September 9, Staci has started an online campaign to ensure Wortman stays behind bars as she continues to fear for her safety.
