Ten schools in Memphis-Shelby County remained closed on Wednesday as work to restore electricity following Saturday’s storm continue.
Due to significant power outages, all MSCS schools were closed on Monday. On Tuesday, most schools reopened, although several stayed closed.
140,000 consumers were without power on Saturday night during the storm’s peak. That figure had dropped to roughly 35,000 by Monday afternoon.

Colonial Middle School
Kirby High School
Newcomer International Center
Oakhaven Elementary School
Oakhaven Middle School
Oakhaven High School
Willow Oaks Elementary School
Wooddale High School
