The woman who is charged with killing Memphis pastor Ricky Floyd in March of last year has a scheduled trial date.
Samantha Marion was accused with voluntary manslaughter in relation to Floyd’s shooting death. Floyd was a pastor at the Pursuit of God Church.
Marion’s trial is scheduled to start on March 1, 2027, according to the Shelby County jail records system.
The incident began with a late-night altercation inside a South Memphis restaurant that spilled into the street.
Prosecutors and witnesses claim that Floyd was shot while he was backing away after Marion went to her car to get a gun. According to Marion’s defense team, she acted in self-defense because she feared for her life.
