Video footage of the shooting should be made public, that’s according to a lawyer representing the family of the baby killed in a police shooting outside a Walmart in Senatobia, Mississippi.
The release of the bodycam and security footage from Walmart, according to Van Turner, one of the lawyers for the family of one-year-old Kohen Wiley, would address many of the unresolved issues in this case.
“I want to, right now,” he said. “I mean, they have the ability to release that footage now. I don’t think releasing the footage will impede any investigation. The facts are what they are. Baby Kohen is dead, and we need transparency.”
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, which is handling the case, says bodycam footage will not be released at this time, as the case remains under investigation.
