The Memphis IKEA store closes its doors after nearly a decade in operation, leaving Tennessee without a physical IKEA store.
This closure comes after a comprehensive review of such factors as market share, business performance, costs and overall use of its physical location.
“We are disappointed by IKEA’s decision to close its Memphis store and are thinking first about the employees and families impacted,” Memphis Mayor Paul Young said. “The City stands ready to support workers through this transition and will continue supporting our economic development agencies as they work to attract and retain strong employers.”
However, Memphis customers can still shop online, with delivery options available and FedEx pick-up points in the Cordova area and other IKEA customer service locations nationwide.
