On Wednesday, Pooh Shiesty is scheduled to appear in a federal courtroom in Dallas.
He was taken into custody last week on suspicion of kidnapping and robbing Gucci Mane, the CEO of the record label the rapper from Memphis is signed with.
“Williams Jr. and eight co-conspirators, several of whom traveled from Memphis, Tennessee, executed a coordinated armed takeover. As alleged, Williams Jr. produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint,” said Ryan Raybould, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.
The judge is expected to determine whether to give home arrest or keep Pooh Shiesty – whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr. – in custody.
Authorities say that after luring victims to Texas for a business meeting, the group plotted an ambush on January 10.
Pooh Shiesty’s father showed up in court on Monday and paid the court a $25,000 cash deposit along with his $250,000 bond. However, court documents state that he has been ordered to remain in Texas.
