The Washington Wizards shut down injured forward Kyshawn George for the rest of the season on Thursday.
George tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow on March 2 and was re-evaluated on Wednesday.
Specialist Dr. Keith Meister of Arlington, Texas, determined that George requires additional healing.
Per the Wizards: “George will be re-evaluated in two weeks and is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2026-27 season.”
George, 22, averaged 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 48 games (all starts) this season. He has averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 boards and 3.3 assists in 116 games (86 starts) since the Wizards drafted him in the first round in 2024.
